Hello, my name is Xevi and most of my friends call me Blaise. I am 45 and recently became disabled. Still waiting for a decision from Social Security. In the meantime, I started Xevi’s Gift Shop to help supplement my income and give me something to do.
Little back story, May 2022 I was in Miami, FL. on vacation just me and my pup. At this time, I was the outreach minister for my church. I knew I had an event that I had to attend. Which was no problem for me to do the drive twice or so I thought. I had been up for 23 hours driving 8 hours to and then 8 hours back for the event. I got back to my air bnb had about 4 hours of sleep before it was morning and my pup needed to be walked. When I woke up, I was extremely exhausted with my chest hurting, I just thought it was from the long day in the sun, long drive, being awake for so long and so little sleep. You get the picture. But I got up and threw on clothes to walk Gage (my pups name btw). I almost didn’t worry about my apple watch, but something said, “put it on you didn’t waste money for it to sit there.” As soon as I did it started going off that I was in atrial fibrillation. When my apple watch started saying I was in atrial fibrillation I just thought it was some weird whatever on my watch. At this point I had no clue what atrial fibrillation was. Never even heard of it. After the fourth or fifth alert and google (of course..lol) I called my dr she said, “get to the er now!”! At the er I went limp on my left side, I could not stand, had no feeling on my left side for a good 1.5 days and I was hospitalized for 3 days. While hospitalized I found out that I have an enlarged left atrial causing clots to form that are hitting my brain. Side effect from that is I now have epilepsy. Fast forwards to August of 2024 I had another stroke. This time leaving permanent weakness in my left leg. So now I have a trusty cane to walk with. My heart failure just made my energy level bottom out easy.
Becoming disabled and not able to work a regular job has been difficult for me to deal with. I started Xevi’s Gifts to help supplement my income and give me something to do while sitting and can just stop when I am not feeling well. I love being creative and now I can be creative and get paid. lol!I am going to try and start blogging about my experiences and highlight my products throughout my blog. Please bear with me as this is a new chapter in my life. I don’t have much confidence in myself and I second guess everything I make. Always nervous to posts pics because of it. I guess d it hard to open up and talk (but when I finally do, you’ll wish I hadn’t). I have never been one to keep a journal. So, blogging is going to be an adventure and challenge.
